vertigoNever was a big fan of the movie but since last summer I’m beginning to sympathize with Jimmy Stewart’s character (IMDB told me that was Det. John ‘Scottie’ Ferguson - like any of you knew that).

Last summer I began having dizzy spells that made just about everything involving head movement difficult. My doctor cleaned out the ears and put me on Meclizine which helped some but real relief only came after pollen season was over. This spring had been good so far but the dizzy spells are starting to come back – yesterday being the worse since last year.

I’ve started doing some research on the inner ear and causes for my vertigo. Since it seems to be seasonal and since antihistamines seem to be helping I’m focusing my attention there.  Off to bed now; I’ve learned that lack of sleep only accentuates the problem.

Scottie: I love you, Madeleine.
Madeleine: I love you, too. It’s too late.
Scottie: No, no, we’re together.
Madeleine: It’s too late. There’s something I must do…
Scottie: [kisses her passionately] No, there is nothing you must do. There is nothing you must do. No one possesses you. You’re safe with me.
Madeleine: [frantically] No, it’s too late
[Madeleine breaks free and runs across the courtyard. Scottie trails behind her, eventually catching up to her. He holds her tightly]
Madeleine: Look, it’s not fair. It’s too late. It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. It *shouldn’t* have happened …
Scottie: But it had to happen. We’re in love. That’s all that counts!
Madeleine: [struggling] Look. Let me go! Please let me go!

Ah… the drama.
