One of the things playing sports (now watching sports) teaches you is that you have to learn to play through the pain. For me in cross country it was the inevitable pain in the side that came about mile three that didn’t work itself out till mile four making mile five seem almost fun in comparisson.

These days it’s little things like headaches, allergies and the fact that though I love my kids they can sometimes wear on you. So today I’m going to have to play through it and mow the yard, finish the garden project and repair some things around the house. They need to happen and I can’t push it off onto someone else… Of course as I type this Sara comes up and volunteers to mow the yard; there’s probably a good story about marriage in there somewhere but I think I’ll just settle for “I love my wife.” Off to our version of the East Ashville Hardware store now.
